Urodynamics Advanced Course

Endotherapeutics invites you to attend a 2.5 day advanced urodynamics workshop in Sydney. The workshop includes live patient cases at Prince of Wales Hospital.

The workshop will be supported by international guest facilitator
Prof Mikel Gray, Virginia - USA, and hosted by Dr Tom Jarvis, Prince of Wales Hospital - Sydney.

Learning Objectives
 

  • Detailed knowledge of the physical principles behind UDS measurement
  • Knowledge of the indications for specialist urodynamics, including urethral function studies, video-UDS and ambulatory monitoring
  • Ability to interpret complex urodynamic traces
  • Ability to recognise difficult artefacts seen during UDS, and the knowledge of how to correct them
  • Exploration of the benefits of UDS in managing difficult LUT problems in children, women, men and neurological patients by case-based discussions

Prof. Mikel Gray

Mikel Gray is a Professor in the School of Medicine (Department of Urology) and School of Nursing (Department of Acute and Specialty Care) at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing. He has authored or co-edited 4 books, and he has authored more than 50 chapters and 200 articles in peer reviewed journals. He has lectured both nationally and internationally on topics related to neurological urology and urodynamic testing.

Dr Tom Jarvis
Dr Tom Jarvis has over 18 years of medical training and experience in the best hospitals and clinics in Sydney and NSW. He has worked and trained at Royal Prince Alfred, Royal North Shore, Prince of Wales and Concord Repatriation General Hospitals. He understands the ins-and-outs of the local Australian health care system, in particular the importance of easy access to both public and private hospitals. Dr Jarvis was awarded the prestigious RACS Fellowship and has published scholarly articles in numerous international and local journals.
